Rough Cut is an aemi event that provides film artists with the opportunity to present works-in-progress at various stages of development to a guest curator, programmer, academic or critic in a supportive peer environment. This is a useful way to get critical feedback and advice or guidance around production, funding and exhibition strategy. Originally due to take place in Studio 6 at Temple Bar Gallery + Studios, due to Covid-19, our first Rough Cut event was held online via Zoom on Wednesday 24th June 2020 at 8pm. Film artists Myrid Carten and Dean Kavanagh presented work at this first event which was moderated by critic and artist moving image programmer Adam Pugh. Adam responded to the artists’ works before conversation about the projects opened out to the rest of the group in attendance.
Dean Kavanagh's work is supported by The Arts Council / An Chomhairle Ealaíon
