The latest materialist gesture in cinema's dematerialisation. Uncompromising alter-ego Johnny Kline returns in the form of found and partially destroyed film leader and countdown strips. Always inappropriate in his appropriation of found materials Kline brings the private and public realms together in the creation of a film created through the re-appropration of 16mm and 35mm film leader and tail materials, pushed through a custom process involving revival through analogue Beta retransfer and digitisation. Johnny Kline's in it for the Money is an examination and reaction to the art culture surrounding celluloid imagery.
